The basic RiderCourse is designed for novice and intermediate riders. The curriculum will introduce the foundational safety concepts to begin an enjoyable motorcycle experience. These concepts include learning effective strategies while building the necessary riding skills for the road. The course consists of approximately five hours of classroom instruction and ten hours of riding (range) time. Our normal schedule consists of one full weekend from start to finish (Saturday - Sunday).
The riding portion of the course will take place in a controlled environment free from external distractions you might encounter on the street. The exercises will be additionally be facilitated by MSF certified RiderCoaches who will be present to help you throughout the course.
We will provide you with a helmet if desired and set you up on one of our many training bikes (all under 250cc). As far as the rest is concerned, just remember to bring a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
After successful completion of the BRC, you will receive a course completion card and a certificate on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security. This certificate will serve as a waiver for the riding and written tests at any Tennessee Driver's License Testing Station.
Conveniently located off of I-65 at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway off of Craighead Street (Gate 8)
The experienced RiderCourse is designed for riders with "some time" already in the saddle and comfortable with basic operation and low speed maneuvers. Although there is no required level of experience for admission, it is generally recommended that a rider have at least 2,000 miles on a motorcycle before choosing this course. The curriculum for the BRC and ERC are similar, however the class is somewhat condensed and will take only one day for class discussion and range time. Additionally, you will be allowed to take the course on your own motorcycle versus using ours.
After successful completion of the ERC, you will also receive a course completion card and a certificate on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security. This certificate will serve as a waiver for the riding and written tests at any Tennessee Driver's License Testing Station.
Note: Attending a class without the proper clothing for riding as stated above is grounds for dismissal from the program. No exceptions!
